Volunteer Shifts

Listed below are volunteer shift descriptions.

Assist Visitors at The Wall: Greet and assist visitors with finding names viewing photos, and name rubbings. Listen and provide support when needed.

Mobile Education Center Volunteer: Talk about items, In Memory Honorees and Hometown Heroes.

Visitor Tent (Seated Position): in finding names on website or name directory. Monitor trifold inventory. Answer Visitor questions to best of ability.

Direct Visitors (Floater): Greet and assist visitors with information. Direct to The Wall, Trailer, Visitor Tent. Assist if they need help with mobility. Fill in other positions as needed.

Parking and Visitor Assistance: Direct Parking. Visitor assistance with transportation to and from The Wall That Heals (Golf Cart / wheelchair / etc.,)

Volunteer Tent: Check in volunteers, make sure the snacks and water / beverages are accessible to volunteers, communicate with VVMF / TWTH staff on tour schedules, etc.

Set-up Volunteer: Carry and set frames. Set up replica and mobile education center.

Break-down volunteer: Remove panels and carry to trailer. Disassemble frame. Assist in packing all parts.
